As per sources The eighth Mumbai Marathon which is scheduled for Sunday (Jan 16) will see the participation of as many 38,000 people including business tycoons, bollywood celebrities, senior citizens and six paraplegic soldiers from Pune as well. The Marathon will begin from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus in South Mumbai.
The eighth season of the Mumbai Marathon will be bigger and better as several professional runners are also participating across different categories. The full marathon winners will receive $6,500 as the Prize money. There is total prize money of whopping $325,000 at stake. USD 10,900 is on offer in the half marathon, with the male and female winners take home USD 2000 each.
Speaking about the event, Vivek Singh, Joint Managing Director of Procam International, the organizers said, “The full marathon (42.195 km) has received 2,800 entries, while the half marathon has 11,000 people running a distance of 21.097 km.”
